Appearance:  Granular, black powder

Pure C₆₀-O can be obtained either by chromatographic separation of mixed fullerene extract which contains » 1-2% C₆₀-O or by chemical reaction (photo-oxygenation, ozonation, dimethyloxirane) with pure C₆₀.

The oxides are of interest in that they provide a well-defined mono-functionalized fullerene useful as an intermediate in many areas of synthetic chemistry and material processing. 

HPLC analysis is included with sample and indicates presence of all fullerenes.  Mass spectral characterization is difficult for the oxides, as the oxide quickly reverts to the parent fullerene during either vaporization or ionization.

Samples are vacuum-dried to remove residual solvent.
