Appearance:        Granular, brown-black powder.

Pure C₈₄ is chromatographically separated using preparative HPLC. C₈₄ is typically <0.5% of the mixed fullerene extract.  Though many structural isomers of C₈₄ are possible, only the D_2d and D₂  have been observed and isolated.  HPLC analysis is included with sample and indicates the presence of all fullerenes including parent oxides.  As well, mass spectral characterization can be provided.

The main fullerene impurity is C₈₂ with some C₈₆. 

Samples are vacuum-dried to remove residual solvent.
